HTAi IS A PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY

dedicated to shaping the future of health systems and improving health outcomes for all people.

HTAi IS THE WORLD'S ONLY GLOBAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT (HTA) SOCIETY.

A Global Society Championing Equitable, Responsive, And Cutting-Edge Health Technology Assessment (HTA)

HTAi MEMBERS ARE THE VANGUARD OF GLOBAL HTA.

Founded in 2003, HTAi is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the importance and use of health technology assessment (HTA).

HTA is a multidisciplinary process that uses explicit methods to determine the value of a health technology at different points in its lifecycle. The purpose is to inform decision making in order to promote an equitable, efficient, and high-quality health system.

Founded in 2003 in Canmore, Alberta, Canada, HTAi is a vibrant and growing community of multidisciplinary advisors, academics, scientists, professionals, public & private organizations, students, and citizen members who are dedicated to better health for all people and the future
of HTA worldwide.

Through our premier events, key networking opportunities,
and member-driven HTA advocacy:

HTAi shapes, champions, innovates, bridges, and networks the future global HTA.

What is Health Technology Assessment (HTA)?

Informing decision-making to promote an equitable, efficient, and high-quality health system, HTA is a multidisciplinary process that uses explicit methods to determine the value of a health technology at different points in its lifecycle.
A health technology is an intervention developed to prevent, diagnose, or treat medical conditions; promote health; provide rehabilitation; or organize healthcare delivery,

The intervention can be a test, device, medicine, vaccine, procedure, program, or system.

OUR GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE

Health Technology Assessment international Society (HTAi) is incorporated as a charitable not-for-profit society in Alberta, Canada. It is incorporated under the legislation that governs not-for-profit associations in Alberta, the Alberta Societies Act. The Society was incorporated on February 27, 2004.

HTAi’s governance framework is informed by the Societies Act, Canadian Income Tax Act, (other applicable Acts and regulations), the HTAi Bylaws that are approved by the Members, and policies that are approved by the Board of Directors. The elected HTAi Board of Directors is international and diverse. Its work is supported by several Standing Committees, Working Groups, and a dedicated Secretariat.

HTA advocacy is driven through Policy Forums, the HTAi Interest Groups, Regional Meetings and the Annual Meeting, an international five-day scientific conference.

The Society also runs several Awards to honour individual members who have made lasting impact in their careers, and Scholarship Programs to advance HTAi’s mission of promoting the development, communication, understanding, and use of HTA around the world.

HTAi’s MEMBERS ARE THE VANGUARD OF GLOBAL HTA.

HTAi is governed by an elected International Board of Directors, supported by an Executive Committee, several Advisory Committees, Working Groups, and a Secretariat. We drive global HTA advocacy through our three Policy Forums, our Annual Meeting, the HTAi Interest Groups, and support and recognize HTA innovation through the David Banta Award and the IJTAHC Egon Jonsson Award.
