The members of the HTAi community are top of mind as we start this New Year.
We are a very privileged Society because we have such an active community of members. Many of us volunteer by taking a seat on the board, leading a committee or lending expertise to an interest sub-group. Even more submit abstracts and attend Annual and Regional Meetings. Member involvement is what makes HTAi a thriving global movement.
Behind the scenes of the Annual Meeting planning activities, we’ve streamlined the abstract management process. I must say, good timing, too. The Secretariat is managing a record number of panel and workshops abstract submissions; and although we’re still tallying the number for poster and oral presentations, it looks like we will have a huge number of those as well. It’s very rewarding to watch the scientific program for Oslo come to life, not to mention the growth in participants. Don’t forget that registration opens on February 2.
Through the efforts of our Local Organizing Committee, the Welcome Reception is set for Oslo City Hall, best known for hosting The Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony. The Conference Dinner is scheduled for Ekeberg Restaurant, which has stunning views over the city and the Oslofjord.
The HTAi Secretariat has spent the past several months developing communications activities for Oslo. I am sure you have already noticed the influx of HTAi announcements in your inbox: Annual Meeting deadline reminders and as well as the notices of HTAi Board nominations. Over the coming weeks and months, we will bring news on registration, conference programming and features on our host countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
We’ve also taken to Twitter promoting #HTAiOslo2015, and are now on Facebook, Linkedin, Google+ and YouTube.
In the coming months you will hear more about the Annual Meeting. As it is takes shape I have one request. Please reach out to your colleagues and tell them about the fantastic conference that will happen in Oslo, June 14-17. I’m counting on you all to spread the word, increase participation and make Oslo the most successful HTAi Annual Meeting yet!
