Announcement: International collaboration to update the definition of HTA now underway

Share:

Dr. Brian O’Rourke from INAHTA and Dr. Wija Oortwijn from HTAi are co-Chairs of an international initiative involving representatives from the regional HTA networks (RedETSA, HTAsiaLink, and EUnetHTA), the World Health Organization and ISPOR, along with representatives from the HTA Glossary to update the definition of health technology assessment. There are many different variations of the HTA definition used today, and it is in the interest of the international HTA community to create a consolidated definition that is clear and concise and reflects the current and future role of HTA to support health system sustainability.

Work is now underway to review existing definitions and develop the updated version. If members of the participating organizations have ideas or suggestions to offer on this work, you are encouraged to contact Gert Jan van der Wilt at gertjan.vanderwilt@radboudumc.nl and/or Wija Oortwijn at w.oortwijn@radboudumc.nl, both representing HTAi.
