Improving Access to High-Cost Technologies in the Asia Region: First Consensus Statement from the Asia Policy Forum

We are pleased to announce the first Asia Policy Forum consensus statement on Improving Access to High-Cost Technologies in the Asia Region has been developed and is now available. This is the first time we have attempted to summarize the views of all attendees (from the for-profit sector and not-for-profit organizations), with the aim of creating a unified voice.

The topic is something that is important to the Asia region, dealing with both access to high-cost technologies and the use of Managed Entry Schemes (MES) within the region. To date there is limited literature on this specific to Asia and we believe this is a first step to future collaboration in the region on this and other important topics.

It demonstrates the impact of our Asia Policy Forum and what can be achieved in such a setting. This Forum is going from strength to strength forging relationships and building trust across stakeholders in this region. The results of the 2018 Asia Policy Forum will also be presented and discussed further at a Panel Session at the HTAi Annual Meeting in Cologne on Tuesday 18 June at 10.30 am (CEST).

The 2018 HTAi Asia Policy Forum background paper is now available.

The IJTAHC article summarizing the 2018 meeting and discussions has recently been published.

Thank you to all who were involved in making this a success!
