HTAi Offices Closed for the Holidays

HTAi offices will be closed December 23, 2019 through January 1, 2020, to allow the Secretariat a well-deserved break for the holiday season. Any matters arising during the break will be dealt with as promptly as possible upon reopening on January 2, 2020.

HTAi Ethics Interest Group in Oslo, Norway

The Ethics Interest Group held a writing and planning workshop Dec. 18-20 in Oslo, Norway. Nine Interest Group members are meeting to continue work started at the Interest Group’s 2018 Amsterdam meeting and to discuss the Interest Group’s program of activities for the 2020 HTAi Annual Meeting in Beijing, and to begin planning for the 2021 HTAi meeting. The main outputs from the Oslo meeting are draft manuscripts on core competencies for ethics in HTA and ethical issues involved in disinvestment decisions.  The workshop was made possible through Interest Group funding from HTAi.

VALIDATE interviewed delegates participating in the VALIDATE consortium regarding their thoughts on the added value of the VALIDATE project and the e-learning course. Call for Scholarship Applications

HTAi offers various scholarships and travel grants to support individuals residing in low and middle income countries (LMICs) to further their knowledge of HTA. The deadline for HTAi scholarships to be considered at the 2020 Annual Meeting in Beijing is quickly approaching. Some information on the scholarships offered:

HTAi Educational Scholarships

The HTAi Educational Scholarships program provides funding support for individuals studying or working in the healthcare field in LMICs to advance their knowledge and skills directly related to HTA. The goal of the program is to increase capacity for the production and use of HTA in LMICs by supporting graduate or post-graduate students or employees of HTA-related organizations in LMICs to complete education programs or training in HTA for the purpose of applying their knowledge and skills in their country of origin.

The Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship

The Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship program provides funding support for individuals residing in African countries to further their knowledge of HTA. The goal of the program is to increase capacity for the production and use of HTA in Africa by supporting graduate and post-graduate students or employees of HTA-related organizations in African countries to complete education programs or training in HTA for the purpose of applying their knowledge and skills in their country of origin.

AM 2020 Registration Opens in January

Registration for the 2020 Annual Meeting in Beijing will open in mid-January, so keep an eye out for notices and email reminders. In the meantime, take a peek at the Annual Meeting website. Make sure to check out the venue, plenary speakers, and meeting themes!
