HTAi’s Ethics Interest Group (IG) is now welcoming applications for its next Co-Chairs.

About the Ethics Interest Group (IG)

The Ethics IG brings together members of the HTA community who are involved or interested in ethical issues. The group provides opportunities for education, sharing of research and good practices, and developing approaches and tools to address key challenges facing ethics in HTA. It also serves as a place to make connections with like-minded professionals from around the world.

About the Roles

The Co-Chairs provide strategic and operational leadership for the Ethics IG. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing overall leadership to the Interest Group
  • Chairing meetings
  • Planning and coordinating activities
  • Submitting requested materials to HTAi
  • Representing the Ethics IG on the HTAi Interest Group Steering Committee

Applicant Requirements

According to the Ethics IG Terms of Reference (here) (Section 7.1.2), applicants for Co-Chair positions must be HTAi members in good standing, have a proven record of active participation in the Ethics IG over the last three (3) years, and have experience working on the ethical domain of HTA reports and processes.

To help you assess your eligibility, the criteria are further specified as follows:

Proven record of active participation in the Ethics IG in the last three years

This may include:

  • Attendance at IG meetings, webinars, or workshops (minimum of two recorded engagements in the last three years), and/or
  • Contributions to IG projects, deliverables, or publications.
  • Experience in working on the ethical domain of HTA reports and processes

At least three years of professional, research, or academic experience related to ethics in HTA, demonstrated by one or more of the following:

  • Authorship or co-authorship of reports, papers, or guidance documents addressing ethical issues in HTA
  • Participation in HTA processes or committees that include ethical evaluation or development of ethical frameworks
  • A professional role in which you routinely analyze, evaluate, or apply ethical considerations in health technology decision-making
  • Formal training or certification in bioethics, applied ethics, or a related field
