Call for Expressions of Interest: Scientific Development and Capacity Building Committee

The Scientific Development and Capacity Building Committee is searching for candidates to fill two new vacancies.

The SDCB Committee is one of the HTAi Board of Directors’ standing advisory committees. It steers the scientific direction of the Society, providing guidance and developing HTA capacity worldwide.

Among its primary responsibilities, the Committee:

  • Sets priorities and carries out the strategic direction for advancing scientific development and capacity building
  • Participates in a peer review process of applications received by HTAi for endorsement
  • Considers potential models for online materials, resources, and other capacity-building tools and toolkits
  • Establishes potential collaborative partnerships along various projects undertaken by HTAi
  • Conducts the evaluation of the applications for the HTAi Scholarship Program
  • Conducts the evaluation for the Egon Jonsson Award and the Sigrid Droste Ethics Award

To balance the SDCB Committee composition and expertise, the two successful candidates will be:

  • A senior expert with 15+ years of experience in HTA, long-standing HTAi membership (e.g., past president, former board member, committee chair/member), from Europe or North America.
  • A motivated rising star currently engaged in HTA (academia/research/government/industry) with a willingness to get involved and learn, previous participation in the development of capacity-building initiatives and educational programs, and experience in publications and/or review for scientific journals.

Ideal candidates are those who show strong engagement in and passion for HTA and HTAi.

Only HTAi members in good standing at the time of the call are eligible to submit their expression of interest through one of the forms for the two profiles (form for the senior expert profile | form for the rising star profile), which must be returned by August 30th.

Committee members are appointed by the Board of Directors and serve for three (3) years with a possibility of extension for another three (3) year term for a maximum of six (6) consecutive years of service (before submitting your expression of interest, kindly read the Terms of Reference here for information on number of meetings, tasks, etc).
