The HTAi Interest Group for Patient and Citizen Involvement in HTA (PCIG) is seeking Expressions of Interest to fill vacancies on its Steering Committee for the following positions:
- Patient Organization Representative
- Industry Representative (preferably from a medical devices/diagnostics company)
PCIG unites patients, citizens, and professionals from HTA bodies, government, research, industry (health technology developers), and consultancy to enhance HTA by integrating patient and citizen perspectives systematically.
About the Steering Committee
The Steering Committee provides governance, strategic direction, and oversight for PCIG activities, ensuring alignment with the Society’s Strategic Plan. It leads the establishment and management of up to eight Project Sub-Committees, organizes regular meetings, hosts two annual events (webinars or pre-conference workshops), and reports updates to the Interest Group. Additionally, the committee conducts key evaluations, oversees external communications, explores collaboration opportunities, submits updates to the HTAi newsletter, and approves funding requests for the Board.
Criteria
Candidates must be able to:
- Demonstrate active participation in the field of patient or citizen involvement in health technology assessment;
- Meet the expectations of Steering Committee membership as set out in the Terms of Reference (e.g., commit to take an active role in driving the work of the Interest Group and providing practical assistance to activities undertaken by the group as appropriate);
- Represent a stakeholder group and perspective that ensures a balanced Steering Committee composition; and
- Participate in additional HTAi committees, where appropriate.
