HTAi is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the role of Scientific Secretary for the Asia Policy Forum (APF).
This position plays a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of the Policy Forum Series, drawing on the expertise, leadership, and organizational skills of experienced Scientific Secretaries.
Position Overview: The Scientific Secretary will be responsible for preparing the Background Paper, IJTAHC article and other scientific materials that underpin the discussions at the Policy Forum. The initial term is two (2) years, with the possibility of an additional two-year term upon positive evaluations. After a maximum of four (4) consecutive years, the Scientific Secretary may reapply for an additional 2-year term through an open call. After serving six (6) years, a two-year break is required before reapplication.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Policy Forum Chair to prepare outlines and lead discussions.
- Draft the yearly Background Paper, meeting report and IJTAHC article in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Attend and present at the Policy Forum and the Annual Meeting.
- Engage in teleconference meetings with the Secretariat and Policy Forum Organizing Committee as required.
Essential Qualifications
- Strong understanding of HTAi’s mission and activities.
- Proven scientific writing and communication skills in English.
- A recognized track record as a lead author of peer-reviewed articles.
- Experience in policy work related to HTA and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Compensation
Compensation will be provided as an honorarium for deliverables over a 12-month period, with travel and accommodation costs covered for attending relevant meetings.
