Hosted by the HTAi Environmental Sustainability in HTA (ESHTA) Working Group, this webinar will explore how the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS) is integrating environmental considerations into health and social care decision-making, with a focus on their evolving strategy and its implications for HTA practice.

Speaker: Pascale Lehoux – Scientific Vice-President, INESSS, and Full Professor at Université de Montréal (Canada)

Pascale Lehoux will present how environmental sustainability is being incorporated into health technology assessment (HTA), evaluation processes, and policy guidance in Québec, drawing on INESSS horizon scanning and scientific monitoring activities.

The session will:

Highlight emerging international practices on integrating environmental impacts into HTA.
Present recent evidence on environmental considerations in health and social care systems.
Discuss the evolving role of HTA agencies in supporting sustainable decision-making.

Melissa Pegg, Senior Research Consultant, York Health Economics Consortium, and Chair of the HTAi Environmental Sustainability in HTA (ESHTA) Working Group, will chair the webinar and facilitate a discussion on the practical implications of the INESSS strategy for HTA bodies and decision-makers globally.

This session will be especially relevant for HTA professionals, policymakers, HTA agencies, hospital and health system representatives, industry partners, and anyone committed to advancing environmentally sustainable healthcare.
