Ann Single | HTAi
Vice-President of Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi) and former Chair of the HTAi Patient and Citizen Involvement Interest Group (PCIG) whose global multi-stakeholder members work to improve patient involvement in HTA. She is also the Coordinator and Management Committee Member of the Patient Voice Initiative (Australia). Ann co-edited the Patient Involvement in Health Technology Assessment (2017) and currently serves as a consumer representative on the Australian Government’s HTA Policy and Methods Review Reference Committee. She’s worked in patient involvement in HTA for more than 20 years, initially directing it within Scotland’s HTA agency.
Ana Toledo Chávarri | RedETS
Patient Engagement coordinator in the Evaluation Unit in the Canary Islands Health Service and of the Patient Engagement Interest Group of the Spanish Network of Agencies for Assessing National Health System Technologies and Performance (RedETS), a decentralised network that informs policy decision-making regarding medical device reimbursement in Spain coordinated by the Ministry of Health. My work in this field started on my initiative by proposing a methodological report on how to involve patients in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and currently involves planning, facilitating and evaluating Patient Engagement and participating in international challenges. I research with PREMS and PROMS in projects that seek new solutions for Person Centered Care.
Andrea Brígida de Souza | CONITEC
Coordinator of the Department of Management and Incorporation of Health Technologies (DGITS) of the Brazilian Ministry of Health. The Department coordinates the activities of the National Committee for the Incorporation Technologies in the Public Health System (CONITEC). She is the main responsible for patient involvement initiatives at CONITEC, where she implemented several actions, such as the participation of patients at CONITEC’s Meetings, the qualitative analysis of public consultations, and the Qualitative Evidence Synthesis.

Executive Director of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Health Technologies and Clinical Excellence (CONETEC) in the Ministry of Health of Argentina. He is a Pharmacist (Universidad Nacional del Sur), specialist in Hospital pharmacy and Master in clinical effectiveness from the University of Buenos Aires.
Eva Maria Ruiz de Castilla | LAPA
Founder and director of LAPA (Latin America Patients Academy) has more than 20 years of experience providing strategic leadership, development and global health policy analysis and implementation. She is a global leader in patient-based organizational capacity building, patient involvement and alliance development covering several therapeutic areas, including cancer, NCDs and rare diseases. She is expert at organizing forums and building coalitions of patient groups, physicians, public health specialists and government officials to generate dialogue and action plans to address a variety of public health issues. Eva Maria was Director General of the Peruvian Ministry of Health’s (MINSA) International Coordination office and, before that, served as MINSA’s Director General of Health Prevention and Promotion. An industrial engineer by training, Eva Maria has a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Sorbonne University in Paris and her DEA-PhD studies in Economic Development from the École des hautes études en sciences sociales EHESS in Paris.
