HTAi has the pleasure of announcing that Dr. Luciana Mduma from Tanzania is the recipient of the 2024 HTAi Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship!
Luciana Mduma is a medical doctor dedicated to improving healthcare in resource-limited settings. With experience at Africa CDC and Compassion International, she now serves as a Project Coordinator at KOFIH while pursuing an MSc in Health Economics and Policy at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), Tanzania.
Driven by the recent Universal Health Coverage Bill, Dr. Mduma aims to leverage Health Technology Assessment (HTA) to inform policy decisions in Tanzania. She seeks to establish a national HTA framework to ensure cost-effective and sustainable healthcare investments, ultimately shaping a healthier future for the country. Her passion for improving healthcare access and equity in resource-limited settings, coupled with her strong commitment to utilizing HTA to inform policy decisions, was a key factor in the evaluation of her application for the Scholarship, which will support Luciana in her pursuit of her Master program.
