HTAi Announces Brussels, Belgium as Host City for the 2027 Annual Meeting

Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) is pleased to announce that its 2027 Annual Meeting will take place in Brussels, Belgium, from June 12–16, 2027.
Hosted in partnership with the Belgium Health Care Knowledge Centre (KCE) and the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV/INAMI), with support from the Brussels Center for Collaboration in Health (BCCH), the meeting will bring together the global health technology assessment (HTA) community at a pivotal moment for health systems worldwide.
Under the theme “HTA in a Time of Transformation,” the Annual Meeting will explore how HTA can continue to support evidence-informed decision-making amid rapid technological advancement, evolving health system priorities, growing demands for sustainability, and changing expectations around the use of data and innovation. The program will foster discussion on the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of HTA and the role it can play in strengthening health systems and improving outcomes for patients and populations.
Brussels provides a fitting setting for these conversations. As a centre of European health policy, regulation, and international collaboration, the city sits at the intersection of many of the developments currently shaping the future of HTA. The meeting will offer a unique opportunity to reflect on emerging experiences, share lessons across regions, and examine how HTA can continue to evolve in response to a rapidly changing landscape.
The Annual Meeting is expected to attract close to a thousand participants from around the world, including researchers, policymakers, health system leaders, industry representatives, patients and patient representatives, clinicians, academics, and HTA practitioners. Together, they will share cutting-edge research, explore methodological and policy developments, and strengthen the international collaborations that drive progress in HTA.

NIHDI, or the National institute for health and disability Insurance, is a public institution of social security in Belgium. The NIHDI organises, manages and monitors compulsory insurance for medical care and benefits. In concrete terms, this means that we ensure the optimal use of the resources of the health and disability insurance, accessible quality care for everyone, benefits and reintegration in the event of incapacity for work due to illness, accident or parenthood and advice in the event of medical accidents. For pharmaceuticals, we are working on an innovative pharmaceutical policy to ensure sustainable and future-proof accessibility of valuable pharmaceutical specialties for patients in Belgium. About Brussels Centre for Collaboration in Health (BCCH)
The Brussels Centre for Collaboration in Health (BCCH) is a non-profit organisation established under Belgian law by the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV-INAMI). BCCH was created to support RIZIV-INAMI in its role as Consortium Lead of the EU HTA Framework Contract Consortium. The consortium, funded by the European Commission, brings together over 30 organisations across 22 countries to support collaborative activities conducted under the EU HTA Regulation. As part of this framework, BCCH provides administrative, project management and stakeholder support that contributes to the effective implementation of consortium activities.

Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) kondigt met genoegen aan dat zijn jaarvergadering van 2027 zal plaatsvinden in Brussel, België, van 12 tot en met 16 juni 2027.
De bijeenkomst wordt georganiseerd in samenwerking met het Belgisch Kenniscentrum voor de Gezondheidszorg (KCE) en het Rijksinstituut voor Ziekte- en Invaliditeitsverzekering (RIZIV), met steun van het Brussels Center for Collaboration in Health (BCCH). Ze zal de wereldwijde HTA-gemeenschap samenbrengen op een cruciaal moment voor de gezondheidszorgsystemen wereldwijd.
Onder het thema ‘HTA in een tijd van transformatie’ zal worden bekeken hoe HTA een evidence-based beleid kan blijven ondersteunen, in een context van snelle technologische vooruitgang, veranderende prioriteiten in de zorg, toenemende eisen inzake duurzaamheid en nieuwe verwachtingen rond het gebruik van data en innovatie. Het programma zal het debat aanmoedigen over de toekomstige kansen en uitdagingen van HTA en zijn mogelijke rol bij het versterken van gezondheidszorgsystemen en het verbeteren van gezondheidsuitkomsten voor patiënten en bevolking.
Brussel vormt de ideale setting voor deze gesprekken. Als centrum van een Europees gezondheidsbeleid, regelgeving en internationale samenwerking bevindt de stad zich op het kruispunt van vele ontwikkelingen die bepalend zijn voor de toekomst van HTA. De bijeenkomst biedt een unieke kans om na te denken over nieuwe ervaringen, lessen uit verschillende regio’s uit te wisselen en na te gaan hoe HTA verder kan evolueren in een snel veranderend landschap.
Verwacht wordt dat de jaarvergadering bijna duizend deelnemers uit de hele wereld zal samenbrengen, waaronder onderzoekers, beleidsmakers, vertegenwoordigers van de industrie, patiënten en hun vertegenwoordigers, clinici, academici en HTA-professionals. Samen zullen zij baanbrekend onderzoek delen, methodologische en beleidsontwikkelingen bespreken en de internationale samenwerking versterken.
De HTAi-jaarvergadering, die jaarlijks in juni plaatsvindt, is het belangrijkste internationale forum voor de ontwikkeling van wetenschap, praktijk en de impact van HTA. Gedurende vijf dagen zullen er wetenschappelijke sessies, workshops, panelgesprekken, netwerkmomenten en gezamenlijke leerervaringen plaatsvinden, gericht op het wereldwijd versterken van een evidence-based beleid in de gezondheidszorg.

Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) a le plaisir d’annoncer que son congrès annuel 2027 se tiendra à Bruxelles, en Belgique, du 12 au 16 juin 2027.
Organisé en partenariat avec le Centre Fédéral d’Expertise des Soins de Santé (KCE) et l’Institut National d’Assurance Maladie-Invalidité (INAMI), avec le soutien du Brussels Center for Collaboration in Health (BCCH), cet événement réunira la communauté internationale de l’évaluation des technologies de santé (Health Technology Assessment – HTA) à un moment charnière pour les systèmes de santé à travers le monde.
Placée sous le thème de « L’HTA à l’ère des mutations », cette édition explorera comment l’HTA peut continuer à éclairer la prise de décision fondée sur les données probantes dans un contexte marqué par des avancées technologiques rapides, par l’évolution des priorités des systèmes de santé, par des exigences de durabilité accrues et par des attentes nouvelles quant à l’utilisation des données et l’innovation. Le programme encouragera le débat autour des défis et opportunités qui vont façonner l’avenir de l’HTA, et de son rôle dans le renforcement des systèmes de santé et l’amélioration des résultats pour les patients et les populations.
Bruxelles offre à ces échanges un cadre particulièrement judicieux. Au cœur des politiques de santé européennes, de la réglementation et de la coopération internationale, la ville se situe au croisement des évolutions qui façonnent l’avenir de l’HTA. Le congrès sera une occasion unique de réfléchir à des réalités émergentes, de partager des enseignements entre régions et d’examiner comment l’HTA peut continuer à s’adapter à un environnement en constante mutation.
L’événement devrait attirer près d’un millier de participants venus du monde entier, dont des chercheurs, des décideurs, des responsables de systèmes de santé, des représentants de l’industrie, des (représentants des) patients, des cliniciens, des universitaires et des professionnels de l’HTA, qui viendront partager des recherches de pointe, découvrir des évolutions méthodologiques et politiques, et renforcer les collaborations internationales qui alimentent les avancées dans le domaine de l’HTA.
Organisé chaque année en juin, le congrès annuel d’HTAi est LE grand rendez-vous international où se construisent les avancées scientifiques, méthodologiques et opérationnelles de l’évaluation des technologies de santé. Il propose cinq jours de présentations scientifiques, d’ateliers, de tables rondes, de networking et d’apprentissage collaboratif pensés pour renforcer la prise de décision fondée sur des données probantes partout dans le monde.

Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi) gibt bekannt, dass das HTAi 2027 Annual Meeting vom 12. bis 16. Juni 2027 in Brüssel, Belgien, stattfinden wird.
Die Veranstaltung wird in Partnerschaft mit dem Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre (KCE) und dem National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV/INAMI) sowie mit Unterstützung des Brussels Center for Collaboration in Health (BCCH) ausgerichtet und bringt die globale Gemeinschaft von Technologiefolgenabschätzung im Gesundheitswesen – Health Technology Assessment (HTA) – in einem weltweit entscheidenden Moment für Gesundheitssysteme zusammen.
Unter dem Leitthema „HTA zu Zeiten des Wandels“ beleuchtet das HTAi 2027 Annual Meeting, wie HTA in einem Umfeld rascher technologischer Entwicklungen, sich wandelnder gesundheitspolitischer Prioritäten, wachsender Anforderungen an Nachhaltigkeit, sowie veränderter Erwartungen an den Einsatz von Daten und Innovation, weiterhin eine evidenzbasierte Entscheidungsfindung unterstützen kann. Es wird erwartet, dass das HTAi 2027 Annual Meeting rund tausend Teilnehmer aus aller Welt anzieht.
