Voting has officially hit the halfway mark for the HTAi Board Election 2026. This is your opportunity to help shape the future of HTAi by selecting the leaders who will guide the Society’s mission to to support and promote the production, understanding, and use of health technology assessment that strengthens decision-making and improves health systems worldwide.
HTAi members play a vital role in ensuring the Board reflects the diversity, expertise, and global perspectives of our community. If you are a member in good standing for 2026, you should have received a secure electronic ballot via email from CES, an independent third-party electoral service managing the election. The email includes instructions for casting your vote using your unique ballot. If you are eligible but have not received your ballot, please contact boardelections@htai.org for support.

HTAi 2026 Latin America Policy Forum Convenes in San José, Costa Rica
The HTAi 2026 Latin America (LATAM) Policy Forum convened in San José, Costa Rica, April 12-14. Leaders from across the region gathered for candid, focused dialogue on the realities of health policy decision-making, while also marking the LATAM Policy Forum’s 10-year anniversary.
The LATAM Policy Forum creates a unique space where industry and agencies come together to speak candidly, share perspectives, and explore what is truly valuable in health policy decision-making within a regional context. As part of HTAi’s Policy Forum Series, it contributes to a broader global platform for senior international experts to engage in public–private dialogue, advance HTA science and policy, and exchange ideas in a way that is both practical and forward-looking.
This year’s Forum centered around its 2026 Background Paper, “Artificial intelligence at ETESA: Transforming the way we generate evidence and make decisions”. The Background Paper is available for review on the LATAM Policy Forum page, under “Papers and Articles”.

Join us on April 28 for the next HTAi webinar, hosted by the HTAi Information Retrieval Interest Group: The Evidence Review Accelerator (TERA): Helpful Tools and Tips for Information Specialists.
This interactive session will explore how the Evidence Review Accelerator (TERA) can support faster, higher-quality systematic reviews. Designed with information specialists in mind, the workshop will highlight the most relevant tools through live demonstrations.
The session will be led by Justin Clark, developer of TERA and the Two-Week Systematic Review (2weekSR) methodology, who will share practical insights drawn from his experience conducting reviews and building these tools.
Participants will be guided through:
- Brief introduction to TERA.
- Demonstration of creating focused searches using the Word Frequency Analyser, SearchRefiner, Polyglot Search Translator and the Deduplicator.
- Demonstration of Generative AI-powered screening using MechaScreener.
- Demonstration of citation searching with SpiderCite.
- Using TERA Farmer to identify any further relevant studies missed by the database and citation search.
