Learn More◤ The HTAi 2026 Annual Meeting Theme: HTA As A System Shaper
In June 2026, the HTAi Annual Meeting in Istanbul, Türkiye will open the door to bold new thinking as the global community reimagines HTA as a driver of equity, innovation, and sustainability..
Health systems across the globe are standing at a crossroads. The past few years have tested their resilience in ways few could have imagined. A pandemic laid bare deep inequities. Technological innovations raced ahead of policy and practice. Global challenges like climate change and misinformation have left many questioning how systems built for the past can meet the demands of today, let alone tomorrow.
Amid these pressures, HTA finds itself at a pivotal juncture. Once seen primarily as technical discipline focused on evaluating individual technologies. HTA is now being called to step into a broader, more strategic role. It is no longer enough to ask what works; we need to consider what matters most and what should guide the systems we are shaping.
The HTAi 2026 Annual Meeting encourages us to recognize HTA’s role as a system shaper, a transformative force in designing, governing and redefining what future health systems can achieve. It challenges us to move beyond traditional disciplinary and sectoral boundaries and recognize HTA as a driver of innovation, equity and sustainability. It envisions HTA as a truly global blueprint for shaping resilient, inclusive, and future-ready health systems.

Learn More◤ Submit your topic for the HTAi Gaps & Needs Initiative
HTAi is excited to share a significant new initiative designed to proactively identify and address critical areas within health technology assessment (HTA): the HTAi Gaps & Needs Initiative.
As the HTA field is constantly evolving, HTAi recognizes that areas where scientific knowledge, methods, or tools are missing or need further development may emerge. The Gaps & Needs Initiative consists in a structured approach to pinpoint these “gaps” and “needs,” ensuring that HTAi focuses its efforts on the most pressing issues for our global community. It ultimately aims to foster new research, develop valuable resources (like webinars, workshops, and articles), and advance the scientific foundations of HTA.
How it works
The Gaps & Needs Initiative is a continuous process that combines both proactive and reactive approaches to gather insights from different sources. Topics will be taken from discussions at HTAi events (Annual Meetings, Regional Meetings, Policy Forums), submitted by Interest Groups and Partners and, crucially, suggested from members and general public.
Help us identify the gaps
We invite the whole HTA community, either members or not, to submit topics or areas perceived as gaps or in critical need of further advancement within the field. Gaps & Needs is an excellent opportunity to highlight where collective efforts should be directed to further HTA science and practice.
To submit a topic, please use our dedicated online form via the button below.
