◤ The 2023 Latin America Policy Forum Article is now available online!
The 2023 Latin America Policy Forum Article has been published in the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care!
About the Article
In Latin America, stakeholders are eager to speed up access to healthcare technologies, but uncertainties about their true benefits and budgetary impact often pose challenges. Managed entry agreements (MEAs) have been proposed as a way to address this uncertainty by redistributing risks among payers, manufacturers, and patients. At the 2023 HTAi Latin American Policy Forum, experts explored the growing interest in MEAs, their current use in financial agreements, and barriers such as legal frameworks, data reliability, and stakeholder trust. Solutions such as early stakeholder involvement and piloting shorter MEAs were discussed to improve transparency and facilitate decision-making.
