Board Nominations Open

The HTAi Board of Directors makes important decisions that shape the organization’s future and provide critical guidance and oversight by determining and monitoring the Society’s strategic direction.

The HTAi Board of Directors and its Nominating Committee have opened nominations for members in good standing to fill the following positions and terms: 

    • One (1) Treasurer position, with a total commitment of three (3) years; we are looking specifically for candidates with financial experience; MBA or accounting designation would be an asset
    • One (1) Secretary position, with a total commitment of three (3) years; we are looking specifically for candidates with fluency in the English language, understanding of meeting procedures and experience with corporate minutes requirements.

All nominees for Treasurer should review HTAi Bylaws 6.3 and 8.7. All nominees for Secretary should review HTAi Bylaws 6.3, 8.8, and 14.1.   

The HTAi Board seeks to ensure that it includes the skills, experience, competencies, and attributes necessary to effectively oversee the operations and long-term strategy of the Society. To view the full list of requirements, click the button below.

Call for Expressions of Interest from Not-For-Profit organizations to join the HTAi Global Policy Forum

The HTAi Global Policy Forum is currently accepting Expressions of Interest to fill one (1) vacancy available for a Not-For-Profit organization.

We welcome Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from not-for-profit organizational members of HTAi who have formal responsibilities within a health care system to make HTA-based decisions and/or provide HTA-based advice on coverage or pricing of health care technologies. EOIs from any country are welcome.

HTAi has opened a call for nominations for the Latin America (LATAM) Forum Organizing Committee to fill one For-Profit vacancy.

LATAM Policy Forum Organizing Committee members are required to commit to continued and diligent support of the content and development of the LATAM Policy Forum meetings through input on the topic, agenda, the research, framing and reporting of the pre-meeting background paper, the identification of speakers, and several outputs of the meeting. Input will be provided by email and through approximately 3-4 90-minute meetings (by teleconference and one in person meeting at the HTAi Annual Meeting) per year ahead of the LATAM Policy Forum meeting in Q3.

Call for Nominations – HTAi Asia Policy Forum Organizing Committee

HTAi has opened a call for nominations for the Asia Policy Forum Organizing Committee to fill one Not-For-Profit vacancy. Asia Policy Forum Organizing Committee members are required to commit to continued and diligent support of the content and development of Asia Policy Forum meetings through input on the topic, agenda, the research, framing and reporting of the pre-meeting background paper, the identification of speakers, and several outputs of the meeting. Input will be provided by email and through approximately seven 60-minute meetings (by teleconference and one in person meeting at the HTAi Annual Meeting) per year ahead of the HTAi Asia Policy Forum meeting in November.

Call for Expressions of Interest – HTAi HTA in Developing Countries Interest Group

DCIG is currently accepting expressions of interest from those wishing to join the Steering Committee, in particular, the IG has open positions for :

  • Vice Chair
  • Steering Committee members

All candidates must use this form to submit their motivation, a short bio, and suggestions for initiatives or activities for the IG that you wish to implement. Applicants should be able to commit to the role for one term (3 years, 2024-2027). Please consult the terms of reference for more information on the IG.

News from the HTAi 2024 Annual Meeting

Register Today: Early Bird Registration Ends March 28

The HTAi 2024 Annual Meeting will introduce hundreds of presentations over five days to promote the development, understanding, and use of HTA around the world as a means of fostering innovation and effective use of resources in health care. The presentations include a keynote presentation and three plenaries that will explore various aspects of the event’s overall theme, A Turning Point for HTA? Sustainability, Networks, and Innovation. This year, the HTAi Annual Meeting offers a distinctive blend of engagement and interaction that caters to both virtual and in-person attendees. Whether you’re on-site or online, your Annual Meeting experience will be filled with dynamic scientific discussions and valuable networking opportunities for all participants!  

The HTAi Annual Meeting is open to all HTA collaborators and contributors. While membership to HTAi is not a pre-requisite to attending the Annual Meeting, all active HTAi members enjoy a reduced registration rate in addition to the unparalleled opportunities membership provides.  

Additionally, tickets for social events, such as the conference dinner, and pre-registration for Workshops, can be completed during the registration process. Further registration information is available on the HTAi Annual Meeting website.

PCIG PASS Program

HTAi’s Patient and Citizen Involvement in HTA Interest Group (PCIG) offers the PCIG PASS to support patients, carers and patient representatives attend HTAi Annual Meeting and pre-meeting workshops who would be otherwise unable to take part.

You may be eligible to apply if you: 

  • have lived experience as a patient or carer, or
  • represent patients (such as in a patient or community organisation, including online groups), or
  • represent patients in an HTA committee (such as a consumer/patient/public/lay member), or
  • have an HTAi Participation Grant or is a plenary speaker, and fall into one of the above 3 categories and need a ‘partial’ PCIG PASS to cover a gap between the Grant and the PASS.

Jordi Llinares Garcia Memorial Award

The HTAi RWE&AI Interest Group is pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity available to students presenting at the HTAi 2024 Annual Meeting.

Students with accepted abstracts linked to real-world evidence and artificial intelligence for the HTAi 2024 Annual Meeting in Seville are eligible to apply for a one-time monetary award in memory of Jordi Llinares Garcia.

Jordi Llinares Garcia, who served as the Head of Research and Innovation at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), passed away unexpectedly in July 2021. Jordi was the driver of PRIME, a program aimed at optimizing support for the development of priority medicines that target unmet medical needs in Europe and contributed to defining the Agency’s regulatory science strategy. He also made a difference in the professional lives of many of of his colleagues.

Through the Jordi Llinares Garcia Memorial Award, the HTAi RWE&AI Interest Group will award two (2) students with up to 1,000 CAD to support their attendance to the HTAi 2024 Annual Meeting in Seville, Spain, from 15-19 June, 2024. 

To be eligible to apply, the candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current MSc or PhD students
  • Members of HTAi for 2024
    • If you are not a 2024 member, you can become one! HTAi offers a special category of membership for students. For more information visit our membership page.
  • Members of RWE&AI Interest Group
  • Have an on-site oral/poster accepted in the 2024 Annual Meeting program on the topics related to real-world evidence or artificial intelligence

Upcoming Webinar: The Characteristics of Rare Diseases That Complicate the Assessment of Technology Value

Evaluating the value of rare disease technologies poses challenges due to factors like poor natural history, small populations, limited data, complexity, and high unmet needs. Challenges vary across the spectrum of ultra-rare to more prevalent diseases, with added complexities in different populations, such as pediatrics. This webinar aims to highlight these characteristics, elucidate their role in hindering evidence generation and value assessment, and discuss the resulting difficulties in obtaining approvals. The session will also outline the impact of these challenges and detail the strategies planned by the Rare Disease Interest group to address and overcome them.

Hospital-Based HTA Interest Group Survey
HB-HTA IG extends an exclusive invitation for contribution to an international study on the integration of Environmental Sustainability (ES) into HB-HTA. This initiative is led by Michela Bobini, Rossella Di Bidino, Iga Lipska, and Americo Cicchetti.

Your insights are crucial to achieving the study’s three main objectives:

  1. Provide an overview of global hospital progress in integrating an ES dimension into HB-HTA.
  2. Assess the consistency of HB-HTA activities with hospital ES strategies.
  3. Explore emerging approaches and methods for integrating environmental sustainability into HB-HTA as identified in the literature.

The survey  will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Your input is invaluable for the study. The collected data will be instrumental in crafting an international paper to share insights and advancements in HB-HTA and ES integration.  Learn more
