Call for Expressions of Interest, Global Policy Forum
The HTAi Global Policy Forum has opened two (2) vacancies for membership, including one (1) for-profit membership, and one (1) not-for-profit membership.
The Global Policy Forum welcomes Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from organizational members of HTAi who have formal responsibilities within a health care system to make HTA-based decisions and/or provide HTA-based advice on coverage or pricing of health care technologies. EOIs from any country are welcome.
The deadline for receipt of EOIs is Friday, February 3.

2023 Latin America Policy Forum Topic
The Latin America Policy Forum has chosen the topic for the next meeting, which is taking place in Santiago, Chile, August 13-15, 2023. The meeting will explore the topic, “Como los nuevos esquemas de acceso, incluyendo los acuerdos de riesgo compartido pueden formar parte de las decisiones de cobertura”. In English, “How new managed entry agreements, including risk sharing agreements can take part in the coverage decision process of new technologies”.

It’s been an action-packed month for the Annual Meeting team, and which means we have more information to share with you!
About Adelaide
The HTAi 2023 Annual Meeting will take place in-person in Adelaide, Australia, June 24-28, 2023.
The South Australia capital city of Adelaide is the fifth-largest city in Australia. Located on the coast of the Gulf St. Vincent, the area is situated on the Adelaide Plains at the base of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Between the fantastic beaches, the celebrated food and drink scene, renowned art, and the wild-life filled outdoor adventures, everyone will find something to enjoy in this incredible city.
In June, visitors to Adelaide can expect mild days and brisk evenings, with generally light rainfall. Average temperatures to hover between 10-16 degrees Celsius, with an average precipitation of 12.7 mm. Visit the Annual Meeting website to learn more about Adelaide.
Venue
The 2023 Annual Meeting will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, a striking landmark located along the Adelaide riverbank. The centre recently emerged as one of the world’s most modern and technologically advanced venues, and features a number of visually stunning halls and meeting rooms. Learn more about the venue.
Hotels
HTAi has secured a number of agreements with hotels in Adelaide to offer discounted rates for Annual Meeting delegates. All hotels are within a 15-minute walk of the Adelaide Convention Centre, including four hotels with only a two-minute walk.

Please note: The accommodation choices provided to HTAi delegates on the Annual Meeting website are only one option delegates are able utilize to book their accommodation for their stay in Adelaide. HTAi cannot guarantee that the rates offered through its agreements with local hotels are the cheapest available in the market for any particular combination of days. All delegates are welcome to book through their preferred website, using their preferred deal, and method. Additionally, HTAi does not benefit from any of its delegates booking through the offered booking links, discounts are directly applied to the booking party only.

Theme and Plenaries
The 2023 Annual Meeting will focus on the theme, “The Road to Policy and Clinical Integration”, and explore questions such as:
- How can we build pathways to fast-track innovation while minimizing risk?
- What supports are required to harmonize HTA processes between similar jurisdictions?
- What is the feasibility of aligning technology evaluation processes and decisions in an era of sustainable development?

Speakers
HTAi is proud to introduce our Keynote Speaker for the 2023 Annual Meeting, Dr. Sam Roberts
Dr. Sam Roberts is the Chief Executive of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. She has worked in healthcare for 20 years in a combination of clinical, operational, private sector and academic roles. She originally trained as a doctor before undertaking an MBA and joining McKinsey and Company. Her focus for the last 15 years has been on improving quality of clinical care and supporting uptake of innovation – as Head of Operations at a large teaching hospital in London (UCLH), Director of Innovation, Research and Life Sciences at NHS England and Improvement and Chief Executive of the Accelerated Access Collaborative. Prior to joining NICE she invested in early stage digital health and diagnostics companies. She has an academic interest in the influence of health economic analysis on policy and clinical practice, having worked at the London School of Economics followed by doctoral studies at the University of Oxford.

HTAi Board Nominations open soon, and YOU could be elected to the Board!
In February 2023, the HTAi Board of Directors and its Nominating Committee will open the nominations for members in good standing for the following positions on the Board:
- One (1) Vice President position, with a total commitment of six (6) years: two-year term as Vice President (2023-2025), two-year term as President (2025-2027), and two-year term as Past President (2027-2029)
- Three (3) positions of Director with a term of three years (2023-2026). These positions are eligible for re-election to a total of six (6) years of service.
To ensure all interested members have adequate time to prepare, requirements for nomination submissions can be found on the Board Elections page on the HTAi website.
Nominations will open at 08:00 MST (15:00 UTC) on February 14, 2023, and close on March 1, 2023, at 23:59 MST (06:59 UTC on March 2).
Please note: All 2022 memberships expired on December 31. Only members in good standing are eligible to run for election and vote. To ensure eligibility, renew your membership today.

HTAi Latin America Policy Forum Organizing Committee opens call for nominations
The HTAi Latin America (LATAM) Policy Forum Organizing Committee has opened a call for nominations to fill two (2) for-profit and two (2) not-for-profit vacancies due to several expiring terms.
Committee members are required to commit to continued and diligent support of the content and development of LATAM Policy Forum meetings through input on the topic, agenda, research, framing and reporting of the pre-meeting background paper, the identification of speakers, and several outputs of the meeting. Input will be provided by email and through approximately three-to-four (3-4) 90-minute meetings (by teleconference) per year ahead of the LATAM Policy Forum meeting in Q3.
The term of office for member organization representatives is three (3) years and can be extended up to a further three (3) years, for a maximum six (6) year term.
Please send nominations by email to the Policy Forum team no later than Friday, January 27, 2023. Nominations will be reviewed by the Latin America Policy Forum Chair with the support of the Organizing Commitee and HTAi Secretariat.

European Commission seeking HTA stakeholders
The European Commission has launched a call for applications to select members for a new Health Technology Assessment Stakeholder Network. The call is part of the implementation of the Health Technology Assessment Regulation (EU) 2021/2282, specifically Article 29 that calls on the Commission to establish a Health Technology Assessment stakeholder network. All applications must be received by 17:00 CET on 17 February 2023. Learn more
DCIG Writing Project
The HTA in Developing Countries Interest Group has launched a writing project on a topic pertinent to low- and middle-income countries. The written pieces will be published on the Interest Group website under the title, “Emerging Issues Relevant to Developing Countries. Winners of the competition will be awarded a monetary prize. CEVR Paper of the Year
Tufts-Center for the Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health (CEVR) is now accepting submissions for the 5th annual Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (CEA) Paper of the Year Award.
