Collaboration is at the heart of meaningful progress in health technology assessment. By bringing together diverse perspectives, sharing experiences, and fostering policy dialogue, HTAi continues to support stronger, evidence-informed healthcare decision-making around the world.
HTAi is pleased to share the publication of Policy Dialogue on Health Technology Assessment in Middle East and North Africa: Reporting from an HTAi initiative, now available as an open-access article in the International Journal of Technology Assessment in Health Care.
The article highlights HTAi’s ongoing efforts to strengthen HTA capacity across the Middle East and North Africa through regional collaboration, policy dialogue, and knowledge exchange. It explores opportunities, shared priorities, and practical approaches to advancing HTA while supporting stronger health systems throughout the region.
As the second article in a three-part series documenting HTAi’s work in the MENA region, this publication reflects the power of international collaboration in advancing evidence-informed healthcare. A third and final article in the series is expected to be published in the coming weeks.

HTAi is pleased to welcome Dr. Iga Lipska as the new Chair of the Scientific Development & Capacity Building (SDCB) Committee.
For more than 20 years, Dr. Lipska has helped shape the evolution of health technology assessment by bringing together expertise in research, policy, academia, and healthcare leadership to advance evidence-informed decision-making around the world. Her career has spanned national HTA agencies, government, academia, and international collaborations, with a strong focus on capacity building and strengthening health systems.
Many HTAi members will already know Dr. Lipska through her long-standing involvement with the Society. As Co-Chair of the Hospital-based HTA Interest Group and Co-Chair of the International Scientific Program Committee for the 2025 Annual Meeting, she has championed collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the growth of the global HTA community.
As Chair of the SDCB Committee, Dr. Lipska will lead initiatives to strengthen scientific collaboration, support professional development, and expand learning opportunities across HTAi’s international network. Her commitment to capacity building and evidence-informed healthcare will help guide the Committee as it continues to support scientific excellence and strengthen the global HTA community.
