WS04 – How To Use The PriTec Tool For Network Prioritization Processes in Health Technology Assessment?

Presenters: Mrs Maria-Jose Faraldo-Valles, PhD Leonor Varela-Lema, Ms Noemí Raña-Villar, Ms Jutta Knabe Guerra
Summary: PriTec is an automatically executable multi-criteria web application which enables networked prioritization of health technologies for assessment, monitoring or disinvestment, so that many users can jointly rank technologies. The workshop will approach the rationale behind the functioning and a joint prioritization exercise will be carried out. Besides, its use in the Spanish National Health System will be presented for discussion.

Presenters: Mr François Houÿez, Prof Dr Uwe Siebert, Prof Mondher Toumi, Prof Dr Isabelle Huys, Ms Hilde de Keyser
Summary: Beside the classical roles of patients in HTA (scientific advice, scoping, assessment, sometimes appraisal), this workshop will describe and analyze how patients can accurately horizon scan to detect and prioritize technologies of interest, engage with their developers, generate patient experience data and compare different treatment options, contribute to decisions on early access programs, price discussions and managed-entry agreements.

New Addition to HTAi’s ‘A Newcomer’s Guide to HTA’

As part of its capacity-building program, HTAi strives to offer guidance to individuals new to Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Referred to here as ‘newcomers to HTA,’ our curated resources aim to navigate the HTA landscape, offering insights ranging from introductory overviews to detailed methods and processes.

The resources are crafted to be easily accessible for newcomers, and they are linked to existing sources such as proceedings, guidelines, scientific articles, and handbooks. While these resources do not offer comprehensive training for the production of an HTA report, they do offer a foundational understanding of HTA, including its tools, methods, and outputs. To excel in the HTA field, newcomers should pursue additional specialized training and consider specific guidelines.

The latest collection  focuses on Economic Evaluation in Health Care, and replicates contents from the Online Certificate Course on Use of HTA in Decision Making, Module 6A – “Health Economics for HTA. Introduction to Health Economic Evaluation” provided by the Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy.

HTAi is pleased to share that eight collections of A Newcomer’s Guide to HTA are now available on the HTAi website
