WS15 – The Design Of Health Technology Assessment Processes Using Evidence-Informed Deliberative Processes In Low- And Middle-Income Countries

Summary: On their path towards universal health coverage, governments need to make choices in the design of HTA processes which may be challenging in countries that have limited HTA experience. This workshop provides practical guidance and assignments on how to make these choices, informed by the theory of evidence-informed deliberative processes, international best practices and practical examples from several middle-income countries.
WS16 – Understanding Practical And Implementable Impact Assessment To Build Knowledge And Trust In NextGen Health Technology Assessment

WS18 – HTAi ESHTA Working Group: Health Technology Assessment Environmental Sustainability Approaches And Multidisciplinary Techniques Across Diverse Healthcare Settings

Summary: The climate crisis is the largest global health threat of the 21st century. Worldwide, healthcare contributes 4.4% of total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and 15 million tonnes of plastic, annually. Global demand for healthcare requires embracing more sustainable innovation. Cross sectoral decision making bodies are considering how to incorporate environmental sustainability (ES) into Health Technology Assessment (HTA). Our workshop will explore solution-focused methods and practicalities in considering ES within HTA.
WS19 – Involving Patients In HTA To Support More Transparent, Equitable, And Fair Health Systems With Expanding Healthcare Coverage

Summary: This multi-stakeholder workshop addresses current motives, enablers, and barriers for participatory health technology assessment (HTA) in low resource health systems to strengthen evidence-informed decision-making striving for inclusiveness, equity, fairness and transparency. Using examples from the Latin American region, the participants will co-create and design potential implementation pathways for HTA processes that are appropriate for low- and middle-income countries.

HTAi’s Early Career Network Interest Group (ECN-IG) is now accepting applications for three leadership positions: Chair, Vice-Chair, and Technical Officer.
These roles are a unique opportunity to help shape the ECN-IG’s strategic direction, guide professional development initiatives, and build a global network of early career HTA professionals. Leaders will support activities such as the Annual Meeting Meet & Greet, the ECN mentoring program, and collaborative projects across HTAi Interest Groups.

The HTAi Disinvestment & Early Awareness Interest Group (DEA IG) is inviting Expressions of Interest for a Co-Chair position. This leadership role includes chairing meetings, setting agendas, evaluating the Technical Officer, and ensuring the Interest Group aligns with HTAi policies. One Co-Chair also represents the group on the HTAi Interest Group Steering Committee, attending most meetings annually. To apply, candidates must submit their motivation, a short bio, and ideas for future initiatives via the application form.
EOIs are open until May 15, 2025, with elections taking place in early May. All DEA IG members are eligible to nominate themselves and vote.
