◤ HTAi is proud to announce the IJTAHC Special Collections
The Special Collections in IJTAHC provide curated, thematic groupings of articles that go beyond the usual issue structure, offering readers in‐depth explorations of priority topics in health technology assessment (HTA), combining current debate, technical framework, policy relevance, and stakeholder perspectives.
Dialogues is an innovative format designed to spark constructive, interdisciplinary conversations on complex, emerging, or likely contested topics in HTA. The Editorial Team will periodically identify articles accepted for publication which are believed suitable for starting a dialogue on the topic. Contributors, representing different stakeholder groups, are invited to write a reflection on the topic (up to 2,000 words). Dialogues offer to the readers the opportunity to quickly grasp the contours of a “hot topic” and see multiple perspectives side-by-side. This collection is ideal for those who want a compact, yet rich snapshot of how real-world concerns are being discussed across sectors.
Methods dives into the technical heart of HTA: methodological advances, comparative modelling studies, measurement innovations, guidance on uncertainty and evidence synthesis, and reproducible study designs. Articles here help evaluators choose between analytic approaches, adopt best practices for economic evaluation, integrate real-world data and registries, and transparently handle bias and ethical trade-offs. For researchers, HTA units, and reviewers, Methods is a go-to source for improving rigor, replicability, and the practical relevance of assessments.
Policy Forums gathers high-level analyses, consensus statements, and implementation-focused pieces that connect HTA evidence to system-level decision making. Contributions originate from the HTAi Policy Forum series or stem from initiatives agreed within them. They reflect collaborative work done by international task forces, and mixed stakeholder groups. This collection is particularly valuable for policymakers, agency leaders, and funders who need actionable frameworks, comparative lessons, and strategic recommendations to shape health system policy.
