George Valiotis is the newly appointed Executive Director of HTAi, bringing over 25 years of global leadership experience in health systems and health technology assessment (HTA). His extensive background includes shaping local implementation and influencing global policy to ensure equitable, evidence-based improvements in healthcare.
Prior to joining HTAi, George led the European Health Management Association (EHMA), where he successfully expanded its membership and established it as a prominent voice in health system governance. His leadership in the European Digital Health Technology Assessment (EDiHTA) project has been pivotal in developing innovative frameworks for assessing digital health technologies.

Participation Grant Submissions Are Open
HTAi offers Participation Grants to support HTA stakeholders who would otherwise not be able to attend the HTAi Annual Meeting for the purpose of contributing their expertise, presenting their work or otherwise benefitting from participation in the global HTA community. These grants are funded directly by HTAi and in some cases, are sponsored by external parties on an unconditional basis.

◤ Call for Expression of Interest for HTA Glossary – International Steering Committee
HTAi has opened a call for Expressions of Interest for two positions on the HTA Glossary International Steering Committee: one Co-Chair position and one HTAi Representative Member position.
The HTAi Glossary is a multi-language web-based directory that defines all the terms specifically used in HTA. It is a joint initiative governed and financially supported by HTAi and INAHTA. The HTA Glossary is a highly accessed resource, and the increasing international interest in HTA calls for a renewed effort to develop such a tool. The HTA Glossary International Steering Committee supports its continuous development.
In close collaboration with a Co-Chair appointed by INAHTA, the Co-Chair appointed by HTAi has the responsibility to convene the Committee meetings and ensure appropriate oversight of the development of the HTA Glossary. The role of the HTAi Representative Member is to support the activity of the Co-Chairs and the Committee.

◤ XV RedETSA Meeting in the Dominican Republic
The XV Regional Meeting of RedETSA, supported by Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) as Secretariat of the Health Technology Assessment Network of the Americas (RedETSA), will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, November 6-8, 2024.
The event aims to promote discussion around HTA through the exchange of experiences among specialists and managers from the Americas Region. The XV RedETSA meeting will address the fundamental processes related to HTA at different points in the life cycle of a technology, as well as other relevant key topics.
