Treatments for childhood diseases are challenging to study in terms of enrolment in clinical trials, availability of valid outcome measures and instruments of assessment and modelling over the lifetime. For some diseases, their very early onset, severity, rarity and complexity add additional challenges. How can stakeholders work together to ensure that Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of technologies for childhood diseases is scientifically robust, supportive of innovation in areas of high unmet need, and aligned with patient/family and societal values? In this webinar, experts representing HTA agencies, academia, industry and patients & families will present on dynamics and considerations relevant to assessment of health technologies for diseases in children. Together with the audience, potential interdisciplinary activities will be discussed and consideration will be given to the development of an HTAi Interest Group in HTA of Childhood Diseases.
