Are you passionate about advancing health technology assessment (HTA) and making a global impact? Submit an Expression of Interest to join the HTAi Scientific Development and Capacity Building (SDCB) Committee and contribute to shaping the future of HTA! Two membership opportunities are available.

The SDCB Committee is one of the HTAi Board of Directors’ standing advisory committees. It steers the scientific direction of the Society, providing guidance and developing HTA capacity worldwide. Among its primary responsibilities, the Committee:

  • Sets priorities and carries out the strategic direction for advancing scientific development and capacity building
  • Participates in a peer review process of applications received by HTAi for endorsement
  • Considers potential models for online materials, resources, and other capacity-building tools and toolkits
  • Establishes potential collaborative partnerships along various projects undertaken by HTAi
  • Conducts the evaluation of the applications for the HTAi Scholarship Program
  • Conducts the evaluation for the Egon Jonsson Award and the Sigrid Droste Ethics Award

Why Apply?

Serving on the SDCB Committee offers a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping HTAi’s strategic priorities and advancing scientific development and capacity-building initiatives on a global scale. Committee members foster valuable professional connections and expanding their networks while working alongside fellow HTA stakeholders and HTAi members. Additionally, these roles support meaningful professional development by enhancing leadership and evaluation skills through involvement in high-impact projects and prestigious awards programs.

How to Apply

Ideal candidates are those who show strong engagement in and passion for HTA and HTAi. Only HTAi members in good standing at the time of the call are eligible to submit their expression of interest through the application form, which must be returned by February 3, 2025.

Committee members are appointed by the Board of Directors and serve for three (3) years with a possibility of extension for another three (3) year term for a maximum of six (6) consecutive years of service (before submitting your expression of interest, kindly read the Terms of Reference for information on number of meetings, tasks, etc.).
